# Ask the AI About Meetings

> How the AI assistant uses meeting transcripts, action items, and decisions from Fireflies to answer questions about project activity.

Meeting transcripts are the richest intelligence source in the platform. The AI assistant can search across all your meetings — by project, topic, date, or keyword — without you needing to specify a project or meeting ID.

## How It Works

When a meeting is recorded and transcribed through Fireflies.ai, the transcript is automatically:

1. Ingested and stored in the platform
2. Processed to extract decisions, action items, risks, and follow-ups
3. Split into searchable chunks and embedded for semantic search
4. Linked to the relevant project by topic matching

The assistant searches this corpus whenever you ask about project activity, decisions, or follow-ups.

## What You Can Ask

### Project Updates

* "What's the latest on Vermillion Rise?"
* "Catch me up on everything from this week."
* "Is there anything urgent I missed while I was out?"

When you ask for updates on a project, the assistant simultaneously searches meetings, emails, and Teams messages, then synthesizes a unified briefing.

### Decisions

* "What did we decide about the electrical scope on Vermillion Rise?"
* "Have we made a decision on the panel supplier?"
* "What decisions were made in the OAC meeting last Thursday?"

### Action Items

* "What action items are still open from last week's meetings?"
* "Did Sarah ever follow up on the submittal log?"
* "Show me all open action items assigned to the MEP engineer."

### Risks and Blockers

* "What risks were discussed in recent meetings?"
* "Are there any blockers mentioned across project meetings this month?"

### Meeting Prep

Before a meeting, ask: "Help me prepare for the OAC meeting tomorrow on Vermillion Rise." The assistant generates a preparation brief covering recent decisions, open action items, financial exposure, and schedule risks relevant to the meeting.

## Searching by Topic Without Knowing the Project

You do not need to select a project or know a meeting ID. Ask naturally:

* "When did we last discuss the fire suppression clearance issue?"
* "Find everything we know about the steel delivery delay."
* "What have we talked about regarding Apex Electric?"

The assistant searches across all projects and all meetings and surfaces the most relevant excerpts with speaker attribution and date.

## Meeting Detail Page

To read a full transcript or review AI-extracted items for a specific meeting:

1. Select the project.
2. Open **Meetings** from the sidebar.
3. Click any meeting to see the transcript, action items, insights, and AI-generated meeting prep.
