# Microsoft Outlook Integration

> Sync incoming Microsoft 365 emails into project records with attachment search.

Alleato OS connects to Microsoft 365 to sync incoming emails directly into project records. Once configured, emails are auto-assigned to the correct project, attachments are indexed, and the AI assistant can use email content as evidence.

## How It Works

* The integration reads incoming mail from your Microsoft 365 mailbox.
* Each email is matched to a project by subject, sender, recipients, and thread history.
* Matched emails appear in the project's [Emails](/help/articles/outlook-integration) tool.
* Unmatched or ambiguous emails go to an intake queue for manual assignment.

## Connect Your Mailbox

1. Open **Settings** > **Integrations**.
2. Select **Connect Microsoft 365**.
3. Sign in with your Microsoft account and approve the requested permissions.
4. The first sync runs in the background.

## Attachment Indexing

Attachment text content (PDFs, Word, Excel) is extracted and made searchable. Search for terms inside attachments from the project's email tool or the global search.

## Reassign an Email

If an email is mis-assigned to the wrong project:

1. Open the email.
2. Select **Reassign**.
3. Choose the correct project or mark as unrelated.

## Privacy

The integration only reads your inbox; it does not send mail on your behalf. Your individual mailbox is visible only to you and to admins with the appropriate audit permissions.
